Our new Baumer production plant is being built in Skopje, Macedonia. For the ramp-up and future profitable growth of this brand new plant we are looking for:​

Plant Manager (m/f) Baumer Macedonia​

After intensive training at our production plants in Germany and Switzerland, the selected candidate will assume the overall responsibility for operations within our new site in Skopje. 
 
 
Challenges / responsibilities 
  • Direct and supervise day-to-day smooth operations by actively managing the production control 
  • Profit and loss responsibility for the new plant
  • Take appropriate initiatives and optimization measures to increase productivity
  • Allocate and manage resources in order to achieve optimal standards, performance and productivity in a plant 
  • Communication with local authorities and local suppliers and maintain positive trust relationships with suppliers to ensure constant flow of required raw materials 
  • Oversee the long term planning and initiatives geared towards enhanced operations 
  • Utilize cost-benefit analytical techniques in improving operational efficiency
  • Ensuring a smooth ramp-up of production, the production process, as well as an active control of production
  • Ensure timely and effective delivery of goods to clients 
  • Responsible for design-to-cost measures for production in collaboration with other plant managers and R + D and through consistent application / implementation of lean management and Six Sigma methods 
  • Compliance with and implementation of all legal requirements as well as continuous improvement of environmental, health and safety as well as quality, time and cost specifications 
  • Conduct assessment of plant operational procedures to identify areas of inefficiency and initiate action plan for improvement 
  • Prepare and submit to upper management regular reports of plant operations 
  • Facilitate scheduled equipment maintenance as well as repair/replacement 
  • Compliance with the inspection deadlines at facilities and installations requiring monitoring 
  • Implementation of the QA (Quality Assurance – Ensuring the quality excellence in the plant Skopje) processes and the TQM (Total Quality Management) procedures 
  • Ensuring the proper maintenance of production facilities 
 
Qualifications and Expertise 
  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Business Administration or related fields
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience as a plant manager in the industrial environment of an international manufacturing company
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English language. German will be an advantage
  • TCO (total cost of ownership) consideration 
  • Strong project management skills 
  • Solid experience in lean management and Six Sigma, Industry 4.0
  • FMEA, project planning, value analysis 
  • Knowledge in the areas of production, new technologies, electronics production and controlling (product costing, process costs, investment costs)
  • Knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques, raw materials, quality systems and standards, health and safety standards and compliance, process improvement techniques, business, finance and management principles, solid computer skills 
 
Leadership and Personal Skills 
  • Ability to direct and motivate staff to effectively perform job duties 
  • Problem-solving skills to defects or limitations in production 
  • Good at executing projects 
  • Dedicated and reliable, independent and initiative 
  • Thinking systematically and networked 
  • Communicative and creative 
  • Hands-on mentality 
  • Cosmopolitan (also intercultural)
