FINANCIAL REPORTING OFFICER
A financial reporting officer is responsible for preparing IFRS and GAAP financial filings and coordinating the company legal and financial teams. A financial reporting manager job description includes duties related to monitoring company financial statements and reports to verify their accuracy and to find ways to limit or reduce costs. This financial manager shall also review reports to analyze trends as well as help management to make important financial decisions that will affect the company’s budget and finances.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare the Quarterly and Annual Reports and manage the internal and external review for these documents
- Maintain Financial Reporting calendar to inform parties of necessary deadline adherence
- Monitor and ensure timely identification and compliance with evolving accounting guidance, provide IFRS interpretation and prepare technical memorandums that document issues in a clear, logical and comprehensive manner
- Communicate and explain accounting issues and evolving accounting guidance to the management team
- Manage communications with external auditors on external financial statements and accounting issues to ensure auditor agreement with company decisions on accounting disclosures, and issues
- Assist in the coordination of annual audit and quarterly review activities of external auditors
- Support in process of preparing the TAX calculations and forms,
- Create, implement, and maintain comprehensive accounting policy documents to improve clarity and consistency
- Implement and maintain reporting procedures to comply with internal control requirements
- Perform continuous assessment of the close process and process re-engineering to reduce the timing to close the financial period
- Support month end and year end closing
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
- ACCA certification preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a financial planning and reporting role
- Recent work experience in a real estate or listed company will be highly advantageous
- Excellent knowledge of IFRS is required
