To support our Plant in Skopje, we are looking for a Financial Controller that embodies our values.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Active management of all aspects of the legal entity in Macedonia, accounting, coordination and supervision of audits, coordination and assessment of taxes in Macedonia;
- Compliance of the legal entity in Macedonia with the US GAAP and the local IFRS standards, as well as with the local tax and accounting financial regulations that fall under the local laws;
- Guide the preparation of company financial processes, submissions, statements and reports in accordance with local IFRS and US standards, VAT, Income tax compliance and reporting;
- Understanding consolidations and internal corporate transactions;
- Directing and supervising payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivables, bank reconciliations, registers of fixed assets, customer collection and regular payment toward suppliers;
- Implementation and maintenance of accounting systems, procedures, accounting policies and internal control in the region, recommending and introducing improvements where needed, as well as implementing new tools, technologies and infrastructure development in order to increase efficiency;
- Monitoring current trends in accounting and reporting laws, providing guidance on technical accounting solutions and related documentation;
- Advising management on potential changes in local accounting laws or practices that could affect international operations and reporting;
- Management and analysis of high risk areas in operations in Macedonia;
- Primary contact for all external accounting firms in Macedonia;
- Coordinating with Corporate Finance Office to ensure International Tax Compliance in the United States, cash forecast, payment to suppliers and customers, and compliance with transfer pricing policy;
- Providing financial analysis and business support to the General Manager;
- Preparation and analysis of monthly and annual financial statement;
- Preparation and management of cash flow as well as monitoring the overall company liquidity;
- Assisting in the preparation of the Company's budget as well as monitoring the actual vs. budgeted by giving directions for the company’s operation improvement.
Required education and experience:
- University degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution. A master's degree or ACCA and CA will be considered an advantage;
- Excellent knowledge of English;
- 5+ years of progressive experience in the field of accounting in a managerial position, preferred in the manufacturing sector;
- International experience, preferred by a US legal entity;
- Experience with the tax system of the Republic of Macedonia;
- Experience with accounting systems in Oracle or similar ERP systems;
- Outstanding skills in using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
- Strong interpersonal skills, detail orientation and ability to coordinate and manage several things simultaneously.
