Job Summary:
We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Junior Finance and Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. In this role, you will support the finance and accounting operations by managing day-to-day transactional activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and client invoicing. This position provides a great opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and general accounting tasks. Junior Finance and Accounting Specialist
LOCATION: Skopje, North Macedonia
DEPARTMENT: Finance & Accounting
REPORTS TO: Senior Accountant/Finance Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Assist in processing and managing accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring timely payments to vendors and accurate collections from clients.
- Client Invoicing: Prepare and send invoices to clients, track payments, and assist in follow-up on outstanding accounts to ensure timely collections.
- Financial Record Keeping: Support the maintenance of accurate financial records, including data entry for journal entries, account reconciliations, and maintaining ledgers.
- Financial Reporting Assistance: Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and summaries, working closely with the senior accounting staff to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Expense Tracking: Help track and monitor expenses, ensuring they align with budgets and identifying any discrepancies.
- Budget Support: Provide support in the budgeting and forecasting process by gathering data, assisting with initial analysis, and updating spreadsheets.
- Compliance Support: Ensure adherence to financial regulations and internal policies, following established protocols to support risk management efforts.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with the team to identify and suggest improvements to accounting processes for better efficiency and accuracy.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in a finance or accounting role (internship experience is acceptable).
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to learn from senior team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with accounting software (such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle).
- Previous experience with accounts payable and receivable processes is a plus.
