The Security team is tasked with protecting Proton’s against various cyber-security threats. We ensure the confidentiality, availability and integrity of thousands of assets, necessary to the fulfilment of Proton’s privacy mission. Since 2018, the team has been providing services to other business units, including security monitoring, risk management, internal advisory , product security auditing, vulnerability management and identity & access management. Our mandate includes the protection of people, devices, applications, infrastructure, data and software within the company.
- Monitor and investigate security alerts, covering Proton’s infrastructure and products
- Support escalation and containment of potential security incidents
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Proton’s security posture, by providing feedback on detections, tools and procedures
- Strong logical reasoning and analytical skills: we are looking for someone who can quickly become proficient in their role, who can apply what they have learnt in one domain to another and who will be able to understand the technical details of their work. In this role, this means the ability to investigate and correlate multiple data sources, extract patterns from large amounts of data
- Basic knowledge of system's security, understanding of common malware and attacker techniques, as well as how to detect them
- Excellent English skills, both spoken and written
- Ability to analyze logs and network traffic, and apply logical thinking to solve problems.
- Structure and organization skills: we are looking for someone who can organize their time and prioritize tasks
- Communication skills: we are looking for someone who can work with people across Proton, at various levels of seniority, who actively listens, who can clearly articulate their ideas, feedback and concerns
- Curiosity and appetite for learning, in particular about technical matters: we are looking for someone eager to do better day after day, who will proactively take the initiative to understand what they do not know and what would help be better at their job
Bonus points for:
- Experience with Python
- Experience performing data analysis
- Knowledge about Operating Systems (any Linux, Windows or macOS) and their security
- Knowledge about networking and network security
- Knowledge about Elastic and analyzing data on Kibana
- Any other relevant security or IT experience
