Key responsibilities
- Driving the creation and implementation of best practice within the department and participate in creation of the strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational & safety performance
- To ensure compliance with relevant legislations and regulatory bodies in all operations with raw materials and finish goods handling across the supply chain function
- Responsible for identifying potential compliance risk across the supply chain function, to highlight vulnerable processes and establish controls
- Identify legislation requirements and professional bodies and start relationship to help manage the processes
- To ensure that risk assessment results are captured in the existing systems – SAP, excel matrixes with data monitored and updated on regular basis
- Develop systems as bulletproof gates for stopping potential regulation breaches
- To develop and lead a team capable of assessing complex commercial and operational systems, lead improvement and innovation in line with changing business requirements
- Lead and coordinate projects and support business logistics units in improving processes in line with compliance requirements and business needs
- Manage the relationship with the third-party Logistics providers to ensure all required procedures and processes are being implemented and compliance is sustained
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers and customers to ensure optimal performance
- Coach, manage and develop direct reports and the wider department to optimise performance
- Determine cascaded department objectives & KPI’s
- Ensure that staff comply to health, safety and environmental regulations and work safely to protect themselves and others
- Ensure standardisation of activities throughout the department with balanced work loads
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional qualification
- 2-3 years’ experience in a logistics environment, ideally in manufacturing
- Knowledge and understanding of MK/EU customs law
- Good written, verbal communication and collaborative skills (ability to collaborate with a multi-department team)
- Computer skills: SAP, GTS, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver high quality work, often to tight deadlines
