Assembly Process Engineer
- Developing tooling, welding, assembly, and manufacturing processes as required which meet customer quality expectations and cost targets.
- Develop costing for such processes to support sales and strategy teams in new business acquisitions.
- Working with DURA plant personnel and cross functional teams, to ensure flawless launch of such processes for new contracts awarded.
- Develop improved manufacturing and testing processes that are necessary to achieve the performance and cost requirements of future applications.
- Develop time studies for both operators and processes utilizing tools such as MOST.
- Follow Dura APQP process and generate reports and documentation as required.
- Develop plant layouts directly in AutoCAD or by coordinating with suppliers.
- Recommend and prepare changes, additions, and modifications that will facilitate value created in the manufacturing process.
- Compile and evaluate test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process or material specifications.
- Ensure processes are capable, have sufficient controls in place, can meet delivery requirements and meet cost targets.
- Lead continuous improvement through regularly scheduled assessments and closed loop corrective action implementation.
- Respond efficiently and effectively to address product quality issues and play an active role in meeting departmental KPIs.
- Travel to support equipment builds and manage equipment suppliers will be required.
- Leadership roles are available for the appropriate candidate.
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or related Engineering field.
- Have 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing, with a background in welding and assembly.
- Be knowledgeable in lean manufacturing and principles, waste reduction, and six sigma.
- Be proficient in MS Office programs with intermediate skills in Excel.
- Fluency in English language required.
