KOSTAL MACEDONIA is searching for a Production Engineering Manager (AP1)
 
Production Engineering Manager is senior management position, reporting directly to the Managing Director of KOSTAL MACEDONIA and functionally to the respective manager from HQ in Germany. 
 
The position is responsible for leading the development, mentoring and guidance for the engineering disciplines of the production planning engineering, single part planning engineering, production equipment planning, industrial engineering and change management / master data / sample management. 
 
Responsible for all pre-production and launch management activities, the Production Engineering Manager is tasked with overseeing the smooth transition of new customer projects from the design concept phase to the serial production phase within the KOSTAL Macedonia production plant.
 
 
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leading and guiding the Production Engineering Department in terms of planning, equipment manufacturing, tools, sample management and project management.
  • Contribute to the organizational strategies, visions and policies by defining and promoting the most relevant and suitable technical strategies
  • Contribute to the organizational roadmap by defining the development steps to implementing best practice production engineering to aid and improve operational performance. 
  • Ensure the correct engineering functions are installed to meet the strategic objectives of the organization.
  • Ensure the relevant resources, knowledge and capabilities are available within the production engineering functions to meet the technical demands of current and planned customer projects.    
  • Lead the relevant department leaders to ensure all defined goals are reached, whilst also providing mentoring support and empowering them in their development and the development of their teams.
  • Closely monitoring all activities to identify risks and slippages as early as possible.
  • Align with KOSTAL Group Management to ensure continued confidence and progression in the KOSTAL Macedonia technical and strategic roadmaps.
  • Ensure full internal transparency and alignment for all technical and customer project activities.
  • Responsibility to lead by example with regard to knowledge, behavior, and professionalism. As a senior management position, the role requires not only the coordination of technical issues but also the coordination of personnel with different motivations, different abilities, and different attitudes. It is the task of this function to identify these variables and utilize them in the best way to achieve the requirement departmental and organization goals  
  • Regular communication with the customer, requiring a strategic approach to deliver information / updates whilst also interpreting what the customer expects / the customer reaction and adapting accordingly.
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • University Degree – Faculty of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or other relevant manufacturing / engineering degree or masters 
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant technical management experience at senior management level. 
  • Automotive industry experience
  • Project management experience or recognized qualification – PMP
  • Comprehensive understanding of production engineering fundamentals to ensure positive and proactive contributions to strategic planning 
  • Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes to ensure engineering strategies can result in manufacturing benefits
  • Strong decision making skills based on evaluated relevant data 
  • Knowledge of automotive industry standards (ISO-TS / IATF16949, ISO- 9001 14001)
  • Knowledge of the QM methods FMEA / SPC / MSA / APQP
  • Working knowledge of quality and project management systems
  • Experience with regard to the introduction of new products / new processes into an industrial a manufacturing process
  • Experience in releasing / validating new products / new processes within an automotive environment industrial process
  • Working knowledge of Electronic Assembly process, Mechatronic Assembly process and Injection Moulding
  • Working knowledge of industrial production engineering disciplines (line balancing, cycle time optimization etc.)
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective actions within the complete product life cycle
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing and 6 sigma methodologies

  • Strong conceptual, analytical and structured thinking – Must be able to see the holistic picture in order to accurately direct the engineering teams
  • Conflict management skills – The ability to stay impartial, assess all available information and present solutions to all parties
  • Strong knowledge of English, spoken and written
