Customer Quality Engineer
A quality engineer (QE) is responsible for making sure that engineering and manufacturing processes are performed correctly using the right tools, materials, and processes. Customer QE is responsible for assurance of on time responsiveness during customer claim and assurance of team problem solving and assurance of actions implementation and product according to quality and customer requirements. Responsible for tracking of implementation of actions and their effectiveness to prevent recurrence.
An important part of the job involves designing the company's quality standards and testing processes against those criteria. The QE also checks that employees are trained to the right quality standard and that all safety requirements are met throughout the production process. If anything goes wrong, it's the quality engineer's job to meticulously document the problem and work with other engineers to find a solution. These checks are essential not only to meet client requirements but also to satisfy legal demands.
Main Responsibilities
- Meeting quality system requirements.
- Support in managing Quality System documentation.
- Handling customer complaints – analyzing complaints, preparing 8D reports, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Follow up of implementation of actions.
- Working into KEMET claim system and customer portals for claim management.
- Good knowledge in problem solving methods
- Leading Problem-solving activities with cross functional team.
- Keeping track of production quality and work on continuous improvement.
- Supporting and working with cross functional team on project APQP /PPAP activities
- Audits preparation – implementing requirements for certification, customer, product, and internal audits.
- Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes.
- Supporting new product implementation (launches and transfers) for implementation of quality requirements.
- Support conducting analysis on requirements for calibration and organizing calibration activities;
- Establishes statistical confidence by identifying sample size and acceptable error; determining levels of confidence;
- Establishes statistical reliability by using mean time before failure, Weibull 3-parameter distribution, reliability modeling, and reliability demonstration tests;
- Develops experiments by applying full and fractional factorial techniques;
- Develops sampling plans / Safe Launch plan by applying attribute, variable, and sequential sampling methods;
- Maintains statistical process controls by applying demerit/unit, zone charting, x2 charts for distributions and individual-medial/range for multi steam processes;
- Analyzes data by completing hypothesis, normal distribution, and process capability analysis tests.
- Analyzing and preparing data for monthly reports on KPIs;
- Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; making recommendations (CoC, Quality and process product data evaluation )
- In addition to the above work tasks, other activities and responsibilities may be individually defined by the supervisor.
Required knowledge and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical/Engineering Sciences.
- Adequate Quality experience recommended more than 3 years as an advantage
- Previous understanding of quality management systems – ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO14001 and CSR as an advantage
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English and proficiency in Microsoft Office;
- Good knowledge with problem solving tools such as Pareto, Histograms, sampling plans and problem-solving methods: Ishikawa, 5W, 8D;
- Good knowledge of automotive core tools: FMEA, SPC, MSA, Control Plan and PPAP;
- Self-starter with the ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, multi-task, and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, changing environment, working under pressure.
