SENIOR MICROBIOLOGIST
As a Senior Microbiologist in the pharmaceutical industry, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing microbiological testing and analysis to ensure the quality and compliance of pharmaceutical products. You will play a key role in maintaining a sterile and controlled manufacturing environment, conducting investigations, and implementing effective microbiological testing methodologies. This position requires in-depth knowledge of microbiological techniques, cGMP regulations, and industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and non-routine microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and environmental samples.
- Utilize various techniques, including but not limited to, microbial identification, microbial enumeration, and endotoxin testing.
- Develop and validate microbiological test methods in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in microbiological testing methodologies.
- Ensure compliance with cGMP, SOPs, and other relevant regulations in all microbiological testing activities.
- Implement and maintain a robust quality control system for microbiological testing.
- Conduct environmental monitoring to assess the microbial quality of manufacturing and cleanroom facilities.
- Implement corrective actions and preventative measures based on monitoring results.
- Investigate microbiological deviations and out-of-specification results.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all microbiological testing activities.
- Prepare and review SOPs, protocols, and reports related to microbiological testing.
- Train junior microbiologists and laboratory personnel on microbiological techniques and procedures.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members.
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of microbiological testing equipment.
- Identify and address any issues with equipment promptly.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in Microbiology, Biology or related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a QC Microbiology laboratory, preferably within pharmaceutical industry.
- The ideal candidate is well versed in various microbiological techniques and instruments.
- Strong knowledge of GMP, ISO 17025 regulatory guidelines.
- Proficient in microbial identification techniques and microbial enumeration methods.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Microsoft office knowledge
