Position Title: Front-End Developer
Role & Responsibilities:
We’re looking for a motivated Front-End Developer to help us with our digital production workstream. Key responsibilities will include:
- Working with creatives and project managers to scope out technical requirements and hours for display ads and email templates
- Building animated HTML5 display ads and email templates for our clients
- Supporting the team with testing and QA to ensure work is bug free
- Support with maintaining and optimising our client’s WordPress websites
Technical skills:
General Skills
- Strong experience HTML and CSS
- Decent experience with JavaScript
- Decent experience of Photoshop and Illustrator for simple edits and asset extraction
Email Templates
- Knowledge of email template development and best practice
- Experience building responsive email templates
- Experience building modular, editable email templates using a variety of email clients such as Mailchimp, Salesforce, Pardot, Klaviyo, HubSpot etc.
- Experience with Email on Acid, Litmus or other similar email testing tools
HTML5 Display Ads
- Experience building HTML5 Display Banners
- Good knowledge of Google Web Designer
- After Effects experience is nice to have but not a requirement
- Decent experience with Photoshop & Illustrator for extracting assets
- Good knowledge of required HTML5 banner specs, such as dimensions, file size limits and image format restrictions
Web Development
- Good knowledge of WordPress and experience building custom themes from scratch
- Strong knowledge of Advanced Custom Fields for building modular and editable themes
- Passable PHP knowledge, enough to create themes and basic customisation
- Some QA experience is nice to have, able to draw up test cases and scenarios to ensure work meets required specifications, functionality and design
- Knowledge of cross-browser and device testing tools such as Browser Stack or similar
- Knowledge of SEO best practices in the context of web page development - such as Heading tags, redirects, alt tags, canonicals
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication skills
- Good teamwork and collaboration
- Excellent time management
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Quick learner and willing to learn on the job as new challenges arise
- Able to cope under pressure and time limitations
- Sticks to deadlines and delivers high-quality work
- Strong eye for design - works hard to ensure all development work meets the design as close as possible and pays particular attention to font sizes, spacing, detail.
