Vacancy: 2024 JM Graduate LEAD Program
Location: Skopje, North Macedonia
Johnson Matthey Skopje, Graduate LEAD Program supports the key capabilities of our business and the rapid professional progression of future leaders. Graduates on the LEAD program will undergo leadership development while completing high priority business projects in Manufacturing area.
Main projects will include:
- Develop and implement engineered solutions for production improving safety, performance, and reliability
- Implement standardized JM processes to drive continuous improvement toward goals
- Energy and emission monitoring to drive sustainability opportunities
- Acts as a role model for the coaching culture development, and engages successfully at all levels of the organisation to improve coaching
- Operates within highly complex manufacturing site, multiple shifts, lines and products
- Publicise and celebrate the success of the development within and beyond the plant
- Performing troubleshooting tasks, analysing processes, implementing improvements
- Provide immediate process support in the factory to minimise waste in production. Ensure all processing issues are investigated and ensure improvement actions are identified, recorded, and implemented
JM LEAD consists of three rotations of length 8 months in different business locations. “LEAD” covers the four stages of our Global Graduate Leadership Rotational Program: Launching, Expanding, Accelerating, and Driving your career at Johnson Matthey.
The scope of each placement is designed to build upon the other and develop a robust technical and soft skillset. This experience will enable you to develop a wide breadth of understanding of the various businesses in our company.
The program is robust and challenging; it’s ideal for individuals who are passionate about pushing themselves outside of their comfort zone. To support you through this and ensure proper development, we believe strongly in mentoring and coaching. You will receive plenty of care and expert career advice along the way through those partnerships.
You will also participate in accelerated training and development interventions specifically designed to assist you in building the critical leadership skills needed as future leaders in the workplace.
First rotation: 8-month rotation in Skopje, North Macedonia (Oct 2024-June 2025)
Second rotation: 8-month rotation in Skopje, North Macedonia (Jul 2025 – Feb 2026)
Third rotation: 8-month rotation on a global reporting structure which requires an international assignment on other Johnson Matthey plants abroad (Mar 2026 – Oct 2026)
Are you the ideal candidate?
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry / mechanical engineering or equivalent (master’s or above is considered a plus)
- Minimum Overall GPA of 8.5 is required
- Must be geographically flexible and have a desire to relocate to other JM plant during the international assignment for the duration of the development programme. (Relocation assistance is provided by Johnson Matthey)
- Demonstrated leadership skills and a true career aspiration to lead others is essential; must be adaptable, strive for excellence, and demonstrate a positive attitude in the face of adversity
- Must be able to deal with ambiguity
- Strong interpersonal skills a must, coupled with a proven ability to build collaborative relationships to achieve results
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Advanced knowledge of English language is essential
Hiring process:
We expect the entire process to take 2-3 weeks to complete, and you would be expected to start on a specific date.
