Night Shift Operations and Truck Tracking Specialist
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- The Night Shift Operations and Truck Tracking Specialist will be responsible for overseeing and updating the status of trucks and trailers during night shifts, ensuring all logistical operations run smoothly. The role includes real-time monitoring of vehicle locations, providing updates to management and drivers, and coordinating with dispatchers to resolve any issues that may arise overnight. The specialist will ensure compliance with company safety protocols and maintain accurate records of all vehicle movements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor and track the movement of trucks and trailers during the night shift using GPS and telematics systems.
- Provide timely updates on truck and trailer statuses to dispatch teams and management.
- Communicate with drivers to address any issues, delays, or emergencies that occur during the night.
- Ensure all trucks are operating in compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations.
- Record and log all vehicle movements and any incidents or accidents that occur overnight.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for any issues related to vehicle performance or safety.
- Support the development of nightly reports summarizing truck locations, route completions, and any anomalies.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in logistics or transportation management are a plus.
- Experience in fleet management, dispatch, or truck tracking is preferred.
- Strong understanding of DOT and FMCSA regulations.
- Proficiency in using GPS tracking systems and fleet management software.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with drivers and management.
- Ability to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
