Logbook Compliance Specialist (ELD Monitoring)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- The Logbook Compliance Specialist is responsible for overseeing, monitoring, and managing driver electronic logbooks (ELD) to ensure compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations and company policies. This role involves daily monitoring of driver logs, identifying and correcting any discrepancies or violations, and working closely with drivers and dispatch teams to ensure accurate and up-to-date logbook entries. The specialist will also be responsible for training drivers on proper logbook usage and assisting with any log-related issues.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor and review drivers' ELD records to ensure compliance with FMCSA Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
- Identify and report any violations or discrepancies in driver logbooks and coordinate corrective actions.
- Communicate with drivers to assist in resolving logbook issues or discrepancies in real-time.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all logbook entries and ensure proper documentation is available for audits or inspections.
- Collaborate with dispatch teams to ensure driver schedules align with HOS requirements and avoid potential violations.
- Provide ongoing training and support to drivers on proper ELD log usage and compliance with HOS regulations.
- Generate regular compliance reports for management, highlighting trends, violations, and areas for improvement.
- Assist with DOT audits or internal compliance reviews by providing necessary ELD data and documentation.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in compliance or fleet management are a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of FMCSA HOS regulations and ELD (Electronic Logging Device) requirements.
- Previous experience in fleet management, dispatch, or compliance roles is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in ELD systems and logbook management software.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for identifying logbook discrepancies and violations.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to work with drivers and other teams to resolve issues.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance during audits.
