Dispatch Manager
Position Responsibility
- Oversee the dispatching, scheduling, coordination and route planning to ensure optimal performance.
- Manage and optimize route planning and load booking, tracking scheduling and identifying areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize trucking operations, including route planning, load scheduling, and driver management.
- Develop and implement dispatch best practices policies and procedures.
- Recruit, train, and supervise the dispatch team.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement measures to improve operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor performance, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
- Analyze data and metrics to identify trends, improve efficiency, and reduce idle time and deadhead.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate trucking operations and meet customer demands.
Relationships
- The Dispatch Manager reports directly to the Director of Operations.
Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of and experience with the dispatch within the trucking industry.
- Must have demonstrated skill in recruiting, hiring, and developing personnel.
- Must be able to create and maintain a team environment focused on goal achievement.
- Must have a positive, can-do attitude and project a professional image while possessing a strong work ethic and willingness to commit to extra hours.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be Company/Team minded.
- Must be willing to travel.
